Rory Molnar, 37, of the 200 block of Harvard Drive in Hackettstown, is accused of forcing his way into the front door of the home of the sleeping victim, whom he knew, before demanding money and leaving around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Molnar then allegedly threatened and demanded money from the victim via Instagram direct messaging and returned to the home about three hours later. He tried unsuccessfully to force his way into the front door before spray-painting vulgar statements about the victim on the door, Pfeiffer said.

Molnar was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, cyber harassment, and criminal mischief.

Molnar was previously arrested for half a dozen jewelry thefts in 2013, each time targeting the same woman, LehighValleyLive reported.

He was being held at the Warren County Jail pending a detention hearing.

The investigation was carried out by the Independence Township Police Department.
